Spring is Here....Sorta

Two weeks ago Anne and I both had pretty bad colds but then this beautiful Saturday came out of nowhere and I decided it was too nice outside to be sick. So we spent the day outside working in the garden, doing repairs, and having fun with Anne.

I know, she looks like an old painter lady, but there was a breeze and she was getting over a cold, so I wanted her to be covered. I was also trying to keep the sun off of her so she didn't get sunburnt (yes I am a protective Mama).
Anne and her buddy Ellie doing what they do best. (I need to make some doll clothes for her baby doll :)
My handsome handy-man doing some repairs for our downstairs apartment door.

Anne had fallen asleep in the car so when I got back I just left her in her carseat (where she slept for an hour) while I dug up the garden.

I am very excited to garden this year! I had to take a year off due to my enormous belly last summer, but I'm excited for beans, blackberries, carrots, okra, squash, cucumbers, pumpkins, and watermelons. We'll see what all actually sprouts.

And then this happened the very next day.....

And the next day.....
A friend from Zac's work invited us to go to the first Utah Valley Thunder game of the season. It's a proffesional indoor football league getting started here in Orem. It was a lot of fun for all of us and Anne ended up falling asleep for the entire second half.
Ok....here is a whole bunch of pictures we took today of Anne in her Easter outfit that I finished making during Conference today. We wanted some prints of her in her dress before Easter for a project, so we decided to take them a week early. She was in a great mood (despite her teething, she now has two teeth coming in at the same time on the bottom) and was a perfect little model. Enjoy!
I know you can't see her face, but we thought it was artistic.
She did great posing with the daffodill.....

Until she wanted to eat it.
And crush it...

This is a full shot of the dress. It's the first thing I've made from a pattern since...high school, so I was a little rusty, but happy with the result. I made it big so that it was a little warmer in this cold spring and she has room to grow into it. It was a lot of fun to make and she looks so darn cute (though she looks cute in anything) :)
Then Dad started the lawn mower and out came the scowl.
Just for fun.
At the end of our day outside Anne was tuckered out. We were talking about the garden and looked down and this is what she was doing. We had to take a video of it...but as soon as we were done we took her inside and laid her down.
We definitely have a very observant little one. She loves to just sit and watch grownups talk and other kids play. We also hold her up to the window and she just watched the cars go by. Sometimes in the morning after kickboxing, I put her in her jumper and put on her baby einsteins beethoven movie and she is absolutely focused on it the entire time I'm in the shower. Though I don't want her to be a TV junkie, it's nice that she can watch and listen to something somewhat educational so I can get ready.
She is experimenting more and more with solid foods and juices. She always makes faces the first time we give her something but she never refuses it. Over time she gets used to it and then likes it. We were amazed at how quick she picked up how to drink from her sippy cup and now she likes to drink out of our cups whenever they are near (with help of course).
