August-September

2nd rear-ender this summer. Somebody just didn't see me stopped at an intersection so that I didn't block the intersection. At least this time it was a new bumper and not a whole new van.
Rachel's last 4H horse show. She learned so much this summer from doing and practicing for these shows. Most things in life have come fairly easy for Rachel and all the stuff she had to do for these events was hard. And trying to get a horse to understand what you want him to do and reign him in when he just didn't want to do it was hard. But she stuck with it and kept going, sometimes through tears. And at the end of the day she still loves to ride, loves to compete, and looks forward to next show season.

This boy loves a box and a pair of scissors.

Rachel won first place at all three horse shows in the test portion which tests her knowledge horses such as anatomy, breeds, coloring, gear, tack and many other things. She studied her book all summer. At the end of year ceremony she earned the grand prize that included these huge ribbons and a huge belt buckle which she wears proudly whenever she can :)

In August we were still doing the roof....

We did finally finish the roof in August :) The kids were so excited to finally be able to come up and see it.

I played in a women's lacrosse league over the summer that was so much fun. These were all BYU alumni that played on our team. I not only missed playing all these years but just being on a team as well. We finished 3rd in our league.

Took the kiddos and some friends to see Lion King. Brought back a lot of childhood memories for me.
We had the kids play in the American Fork soccer league this summer because they played most of their games during the week instead of on Saturdays. Rachel played on a great team with a great group of girls.

 My workout one day.

James helped me trim the weeks, haha.
Soccer games got rained out one night. Ice cream instead :)

Anne asks me to be her dentist and to help pull out her teeth. It doesn't look like it but she does actually want me to do this. And she is so happy once it is out. I think I have pulled at least four of her teeth out. She just doesn't like doing it herself.

New haircuts for school. My Mom taught me how to do some trimming.

 Sarah and Issac's big tower.
 Apricots
Back to school testing. Rachel couldn't wait to wear her buckle somewhere.

 Our last pool day.
 Sarah Soccer

 Rachel's 4H family summer party
Family bowling and VR night at Fat Cats

 Sarah lunging Doc

Trail rides are now one of my favorite things in the world. I would go every day if I could.

Our awesome friends that also love trail riding. Bridget, Elise, and Julia Taylor.
Rachel's first day of fourth grade.
Sarah's first day of first grade

Anne's first day of fifth grade
James' first day of my full attention, haha.
 Blackberry crop
 Little James soccer

Leftovers and Doc were buds. He would eat the flies right of Doc's legs.
Jet and I tried to go to the aquarium to realize our pass had expired. So we explored a nearby sporting goods store called Scheels. It was quite the place.
It even included a ferris wheel...inside!

 Funny BYU shirts.

 Fresh peach shakes
My Mom and I took Jet and Penny on a hike up American Fork canyon.

BYU football kickoff day. It was vs the U so we had to try to get pumped, Haha.

Last hurrah camping trip for Labor Day weekend to Fish Lake.

Tigger fairy

We found a good home for Grandma Hebbert's BYU magazine collection.
First free dress day for school. So these were the new outfits the kids picked out for school this year.
Haha plus James in his school outfit.

 Leftovers was getting big.
Doc kept brushing the kids off on the trees so we had to set up some ropes, flags and this old volleyball net to help deter him.

Sarah's career day at school. She is a soccer coach :)
 Russell family reunion.

 Someday kid :)
 Sarah performing....of course.

Mom, Jet and I hiked to Timpanogos Caves. James was quite the trooper and did it all by himself without being carried. And it's a good hike.

 The caves were so neat.

My poor work/riding/hiking boots are dying. They are my favorites :(
My fitbit reading at the end of the hike.
 It wiped Jet out.
Rachel's last game (I helped coach throughout the season).

 James' team

 Yeah he's a goof.

Our friend gave us free tickets to the BYU vs USC game.

Yeah it was quite a game. We ended up winning and running out on the field.

Our big Anne turned 11! For her birthday she wanted to do a petting zoo party which our awesome friends granted for her. Anne loves animals of all kinds and feels a special connection with them. She is such a good helper when we work petting zoos. This year she has grown so much in all areas of her life. She has branched out and started socializing more with the kids in her class and neighbors. She is being challenged at school and is working so hard. She still loves to dance and sing. She loves playing with her siblings.  She also still loves to clean anything except her room, haha. Anne is still my sweet, snuggly, happy girl that we love so much. I'm so glad she had a fun birthday.

Mom helped me with the cakes :)

For their wedding album someday, haha. Sarah and her buddy Isaac.
Pizza Pie Cafe for Anne's bday dinner.
Rachel made this beautiful curtain for Anne's bed, which Anne really wanted.
Sarah made this cute purse for Anne which she also loved.
Jet likes going to Ace just like his Grandpa.

Anne worked really hard this summer with Doc so that she can do 4H next year.
 I straightened my hair.
The whiteboard in the playroom where the kids love to play school.
Black widow on the greenhouse door. Eek.

Zac's awesome cousin Dylan bought us tickets to a Packers game which was on our bucket list. It was such an amazing oppurtunity and trip.

 Real tailgating.

 So cool.

 The Packers won!
This was a cool sight to see at the finish.
 New soda.
We couldn't find any place open that sold fresh cheese curds. So fried curds was the next best thing. The town of Green Bay was awesome.
 Almost a cool street name.
 Where we had lunch.

We took the kids out to a fancy dress up dinner when we got home because they were so well behaved for my parents.

Fun times trying to dress a three year old.

I hope they always stay friends.

 Rachel loping beautifully with Doc.

Heading out on a trail ride around the arena.

Mom, Jet, and I hiked the G. It was a hard short hike but once again Jet was a champ and hiked almost all of it on his own.

We live in a beautiful place.
